Alan M. Goodstone, of Greenfield, WI passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 21, 2025, at age 82 after suffering a heart attack the day prior and hydrocephalus for several years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Rosemary (nee McDonell), who he married on November 27, 1968; his sister Erica; a devoted father to Julie McSwain (Kevin); his grandchildren, Amber and James Larson, and bonus grandchildren Trevor (Kaylee) and Connor McSwain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Muriel and Morris, and his son, Aaron.
Alan was born October 31, 1942, in the City of New York. He received his high school diploma from Brooklyn Technical High School in June, 1960, and after attended college at Milwaukee School of Engineering. He served in the Army National Guard from September, 1966, to August, 1972. He worked for the Wisconsin Electric Power Company until 1985.
He started doing photography in 1968 as Goodstone Candids and opened Goodstone Creative Photography in 1984 in Franklin, WI, until retirement in 2008
He was a member of the Franklin Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Professional Photographers of America, Wisconsin Professional Photographers Association (on Board of Directors), and received many photography awards.
Alan loved flying model airplanes, going to air shows, and Porsche club events. He loved going on vacation road trips around the USA, other vacation destinations, and cruises. Alan loved classical music, jazz, blues, and other types of music. He was dearly loved and will be missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 28th, at Hartson Funeral Home, 11111 Janesville Rd, Hales Corners, WI from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
