Obituary

Passed on to our Heavenly Father's Kingdom on Wednesday, June 6th at 8:15 PM. Born in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Conrad and Alma Kuhtz. "Shorty" is reunited with his wife Judith Kuhtz and will live together holding hands in eternal life forever. Short and Judi were happily married for fifty-three years having met at Muskego Beach. Together they raised three daughters, Susan L. (née Calton), Kristine A. Kuhtz, and Amy E. (née Goralski). granddaughter Alexandra E. Goralski and great-grandson Ryder A. Goralski. Short was a dairy farmer and co-owned Kuhtzdale Farms with his older brother William where they raised mainly Guernsey cattle. Sue recalls taking picnic lunches with Mom to the field where Dad was plowing. She also remembers getting Grand Champion on her heifer at the Waukesha County Fair. Dad was very proud. Then at the State Fair, Grand Champion was in her hands when the heifer suddenly went ballistic and in heat. You could see how nervous Dad was getting. Her cousin David leaped over the gate to save her. Unfortunately she did not get Grand Champion.Kristine recalls the time when she could not ride her bike without the training wheels. She and Dad tried over and over in the barn driveway where there was a slight slope. Kris would start to cry over frustration and Dad reassured her by saying "we will try again tomorrow." Finally, after a few weeks, her Dad pushed her from behind her bike and off she went on two wheels! From then on, Kris continues riding her bike to this day! Amy remembers when her entire Kindergarten class came and did a tour of the farm. That was really cool and the kids were excited and so was Dad. Amy also had many kitties on the farm as well. She loves cats. When Amy was three years old, she was having a temper tantrum in the house. She was so mad that she held her breath and suddenly blacked out. Dad scooped her up and put her in the car and the car got stuck in the snow. Then he took Amy out of the car and ran her down to Auntie Kay's and Uncle Bill's house leaping over snow banks like a gazelle. Our cousin Terry performed CPR and Bernie their dog was barking hysterically. Amy became conscious. Thank the Lord for Dad taking control of the situation. When Alie was in the sixth grade, she went to visit Grandpa Short and he was doing his breathing treatment and at that point, she didn't realize what he was doing. Alie said, "Grandpa, what are you doing?" Grandpa said jokingly, " I am smoking marijuana! You want some?" Alie responded with two huge eyeballs and said "what Grandpa?????!!!" Short's nickname for baby Ryder was "the General." He always loved seeing Ryder. When he retired from farming, he worked as a van delivery driver in the Mukwonago School District. When he retired from the school district, he worked part-time at the Sentry Grocery at Fox View Shopping Center. Everyone called him "Al." It is a known fact that many family and friends purposely did their grocery shopping there so they could talk with him and listen to his jokes. Allan and Judith designed and built their home on Oakdale Road. He had many nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by everyone. Memorial gathering at the funeral home on Friday, June 15th from 3 - 5 PM. Memorial service 5 PM.
