Andrew C. Eliason entered the presence of Jesus on October 1st, 2026.
He was born December 4th, 1963, to Vic and Freda Eliason of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He showed early interest in technical things and electronics including ham radio. As a teenager he began working at WVCY-FM, the Christian radio station where his father, Vic, was manager. As that radio station grew into a network, Andy moved to central Wisconsin where he managed WVCX for a time. He branched into television at WVCY-TV, Channel 30. He eventually became Chief Engineer for the VCY America Network which had grown over the years to 41 full power FM and AM stations and 26 translators.
Andy had other interests outside of radio. He spoke fluent Spanish, taught himself to read French, and at the time of his passing was learning Galician. He was a walking encyclopedia of anything nautical, including light houses, tall ships of the past, battleships, submarines, dirigibles and WWII.
He loved sailing and had a sailboat of his own which sadly, he rarely got to use due to his hectic schedule. Andy played the piano and had a beautiful, musical touch. As his health deteriorated, he spent hours playing hymns and other music. Andy also loved dachshunds and animals of all kinds.
In 2003, his life was spared when his sister Lisa donated a kidney which was a perfect match. It was a gift of love that gave him many years more than he would have had.
He is survived by his sister, Ingrid Schlueter (Tom), sister Lisa Eliason, 10 nieces and nephews, and 13 grand-nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his Uncle Vern and Aunt Delores Eliason.
Andy will be greatly missed by his family, his work colleagues and all who knew him.
A gathering was held in loving memory of Andy's life.
