Arthur D. Dyer, 64, of Wind Lake, WI, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018,after a long battle with diabetes, coronary artery disease, and several other diseases. He will long be remembered for his positive attitude and for never giving up on his fight to live.He was born on December 29th, 1953, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Norman and Agnes Dyer, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his dear brother Glenn G. Dyer.Art is survived by his loving daughter, Erika. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Valerie (John) Esler; brothers Norman (Mary) Dyer and Gary Dyer (Linda Dunn), and Jeannie Dyer (Jack Armstrong). Further survived by his very dear friend, Jill Kizivat, and by many nieces and nephews.He graduated from Marquette University, and from there the adventures began! He was a deputy sheriff, attended law school, founded Rent.com, and became an entrepreneur buying rental properties and then a real estate developer. His home reflected tokens of his world travels. Art knew how to work hard and how to play hard. He felt satisfied that he had lived a rich and full life, full of stress, of course, but filled more with laughter and fun.Art was very proud to be Erika's dad. They worked together landscaping and raising horses. As the years passed, horseback riding would be what Art missed the most. He also bred and raised German Shepherds, with his last buddy, Shadow, siring 1001 puppies. Usually if you saw Art, Shadow was by his side.A proud Irishman, Art was true to his heritage and was a great teller of stories and jokes. We can all learn from his words, "Always expect the best, but prepare for the worst." He forgot to mention, but no matter how hard you try, you are never prepared for the death of someone you love.A Memorial Service for Art Dyer will be held on July 18th, 2018, from 4:00 pm-6:00pm, with a service to follow at Hartson Funeral Home, 11111 W. Janesville Road, Hales Corners, WI 53130.If desired, memorials to the American Diabetes Association in Art's name would be greatly appreciated.
