Audrey [Meredith] Foucault passed away peacefully the morning of September 29, 2021 after a brief illness. She was 93. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack.
Audrey and Jack were high school sweethearts who married and were devoted to each other for 67 years.
From an early age, Audrey was known for her remarkable singing voice, as well as an ability to phrase the music that made each performance memorable. In addition to a solo career that began at Bay View High School, Audrey was recruited to join a select group of talented young ladies known as the Victory Singers. After the war, they changed the name to Romany Singers and toured and performed locally.
When Jack returned from the service, they were married, and music became secondary to starting a family. Their marraige was an inspiration to their sons. While still singing as a soloist for weddings and church services, Audrey served as the choir director at Memorial United Methodist Church. Summer vacations were spent camping and fishing.
After retirement, Jack and Audrey embarked on an extensive travel itinerary. They visited 72 countries and circumnavigated the globe twice, once in each hemisphere. The research and planning that Audrey devoted to this project insured that they were very well-versed about the cultures they would visit. Audrey chronicled these trips in a self-published book, "An Awesome Adventure."
When back in Milwaukee between trips, they volunteered as tour guides for Historic Milwaukee.
Audrey is survived by her sons, Bob [Shari], and Ken [Barbara], 5 grandchildren: Jack [Dana], Jim [Gina], Jeff [Kris], David [Joy], and Michael [Jessica], and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one precious grandchild Amy. She anxiously awaited the birth of her first great great grandson in October.
Interment will be at Forest Home Cemetery, and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a date to be determined.
