Elert, Barbara Jane, (nee Wolke) 75, born to eternal life February 1, 2014. Loving wife of 50 years of Gordon, sister of Tom and Sharon Wolke, dear mother of Glenn, Todd, Renée (Scott) Gilson and Jessi (Jeff) Rhine, proud grandmother of Brian Gilson, and Jane, Joshua, and Jacob Rhine. Barbara enjoyed swimming, water ballet, yoga, and studied physical education. Her love of outdoor activities led her to perform synchronized swimming in the summer and cross country skiing in the winter. She explored creative and artistic ways of expressing herself through fabric arts. She sewed for relatives, friends, and others and hand made beautiful wedding dresses for her two girls. Her sewing and quilting showed in the White House and received numerous awards. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, a friend of everyone. Special thanks to BFF Tina (Noah) for a wonderful summer. Barbara's gentle caring heart will be missed. Visitation 4 to 6 P.M. Wednesday, February 5th, 2014 at the funeral home.
