Obituary

It is with deep love that we announce the passing of Bertha Reyes, who left this world on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Bertha was born on March 16, 1937, in Travis, Texas, to her devoted and loving parents Benito and Bernardo Reyes. Bertha was a cherished sister to Alberto, Esperanza, Daniel, Rosaelia, Miguel and Mary, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She was also adored by her
many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved as if they were her own.

Known for her vibrant personality, Bertha brought joy wherever she went. She loved cooking, was an avid watcher of novelas and enjoyed creating beautiful things through crafts. She was also part of the sister trio affectionately known as “Upstairs,” a nickname that captured the warmth, humor and special bond she shared with her sisters.

Bertha was famous in her family for her quick wit, feisty spirit and endless jokes, especially with the younger generations. She played a significant role in raising the Espinoza children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, offering guidance, love and, when needed, a firm reminder to stay in line. She never hesitated to put her nieces and nephews in their place and they loved her all the more for it.

Her passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her legacy of love, laughter and strength lives on in every life she touched. Bertha now joins her beloved parents and siblings in heaven, reunited in eternal peace. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
