Obituary

Beth Marie Preuss, 91, of Muskego, WI, died June 5, 2026.

As part of God’s plan for her eternal election, Beth was born to Clarence and Elizabeth Frohmader on January 11, 1935, in Jefferson, WI.  God kept his promise and adopted her into his family by means of the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson on March 3, 1935.  After being instructed in the fundamentals of the Christian faith, she proclaimed the Triune God as her Savior-God and confirmed her Christian faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson.

Beth graduated from St. John’s Lutheran Grade School, Jefferson High School, Valparaiso University with a major in English, and Case Western Reserve University with a master’s degree in Library Science.  She was first employed as a Librarian and English teacher at Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee, and she was last employed as a pre-school teacher’s aide at Columbus Elementary School in Appleton.

Beth met the love of her life, Roger Preuss, while taking a canoe class in Milwaukee.  They married on August 4, 1963.  Beth and Roger enjoyed the outdoors and took their family on many camping trips where they biked, canoed, and hiked around Wisconsin.  In later years they traveled often to the west coast and Brazil to visit their adult children and grandchildren.  Beth and Roger celebrated 40 years of marriage before his death in 2004.

Over the years, she enjoyed many activities including bowling, sewing, swimming, playing bridge, reading books, working in the church library and spending time with friends and family.  Beth was a lover of people and history.  She traveled the world and made many friends among her travel companions.  She moved her home a few times in recent years, but she always found new friends in every location.

Beth’s Lord and Savior was very important to her.  She regularly participated in Bible classes at her church, sang in the choir, and served in various committees.  She was compelled to share her Savior’s love with others and encouraged them to join her in the Bible study class and at church.

Beth was preceded in death by her husband, Roger, her two older brothers and their wives, Paul and Ruth Frohmader, and Richard and Catherine Frohmader, her parents, and one nephew.

Beth is survived by her two children: Brian (Sharon) Preuss and Linda (Guy) Marquardt; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Muskego, WI at 2:30pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026.  Visitation and luncheon will be held at the church from 1:00- 2:30pm.
