Obituary

Windler, Betty M. (nee Petersen) Born January 19, 1922 in Racine, WI. Long time resident of Hales Corners and Greenfield. Betty was surrounded by family at home when she left for Heaven on December 20. Attended Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Racine where a Sunday school teacher led her to accept Jesus as her savior from the punishment for sin. Trained to be a registered nurse at Milwaukee Lutheran Hospital where she lived for three years with other future nurses in a residence near the hospital. Upon completion of her training she enlisted in the Army as a nurse. After the end of WW2 she worked as a nurse in a hospital in Milwaukee where she cared for patients ill due to the polio epidemic and at Milwaukee Lutheran Hospital Maternity Ward. Married to Harold Windler and the mother of Steven, Paul and Daniel. Also survived by brother Arthur Petersen and his wife Julie and sister Helen Taylor (nee Petersen). Visitation on Wednesday December 26th at Faith Bible Church at 4175 South 112th Street, Greenfield 53228, from 10 to 11am followed by a funeral service at 11am. Special thanks to Vinchenza, Toi and Sandra from Horizon Hospice. They were a big help to Betty and her family during the last six months. Betty was mostly cheerful and grateful during this difficult time.
