Beverly "Bev" Hansen (nee Werner), passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024, at the age of 88. She leaves behind the legacy of family and friends as well as memories that will be treasured by those who knew her.
Born on September 25, 1935, in Milwaukee WI, Beverly was a devoted wife to her late husband Lloyd Hansen, and formally the late Donald Wegner. She was a loving mother to her children Dennis (Kathie) Wegner, Joanne (Tom) Schwanke, and the late Ken (Diane) Wegner. She was a proud grandmother to Jack, Michael, Jenny, Jessica, Nicole, Dan, and Jimmy and great grandmother to Owen, Sophia, Hailey, McKenzie, Austin, Caden, Adylin, Reece, Charlotte, and Liam. Stepmother to Christine Hansen, Gwen (Jim) Pasbrig, Joy (Marty) Kuphall, and Terry (Debbie) Hansen as well as step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She was also a dog mom to her beloved Lucy who was always by her side.
Bev had a passion for singing and spent several years as a member of the Sweet Adelines International women's singing group. This love carried over to her time at Tudor Oaks where she always made sure everyone had happy birthday sang to them at lunch or dinner. If she wasn't singing, she would be learning new things on her computer, golfing, or quilting. She spent many years golfing with Lloyd and women's groups in Hartford and Arizona and was most proud of her hole in one. She shared her wonderful quilts with family and friends in Arizona and at Tudor Oaks.
Prior to retirement Bev was a manager for the Milwaukee Public Schools Lunch program as well as an executive secretary at Enerpac. She was proud of her success and hard work outside of the home.
Bev faced life's challenges with grace and courage, always remaining steadfast in her faith in Jesus as our savior and is happy to now be home with God in heaven. Her faith and resilience left a mark on those she encountered.
Bev will be missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Although she may no longer be with us in body, may her memory be a blessing and may she rest in eternal peace. As we mourn her loss, let us celebrate her life.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Beverly Hansen will be held on April 15th, 2024, at Hartson Funeral Home in Hales Corners, WI.
Visitation at 12pm and funeral service at 1pm with luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society in memory of Bev.
