Carlyn L (Lihrman) Hoffmann
Came into this world on August 15, 1931 and left us on her 95th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband Rudolph, father Carl Lihrman, mother Lydia (Hoffmann) Lihrman, sister Delores Schleichert and brother, Charles Lihrman. She is survived by all six of her children, Rosanne Hoffmann (Ron Bowker), Renee Thompson (Sam), Robert (Carrie Murphy), Rudi (Lorri Heusch), Rory (Lynn Rowlely) and Rodney (Terri Downing), ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and nieces and nephews.
Carlyn was a 1950 graduate of North Division High School in Milwaukee. A home maker until her family was self-sufficient, she later enjoyed working with the staff of Stefaniak Realty and traveling to historic places after retirement. She was a quilter, a needleworker, a baker, a painter and a maker; but most of all, she was a mom.
Mom married Dad in 1952 and with Dad, managed to wrangle a challenging six-pack of kids into productive adults. They made Muskego our home until retirement, when they began a new adventure on the road in their motor home, eventually landing back in Muskego. For the past seven years she lived independently at The Regency in New Berlin, where she actively participated in games and Packer Parties with her Lady Friends.
Mom collected affirmations and among them, on a scrap of paper in her own handwriting, was this message:
Our past is not as important as our future, so look ahead and move on ---
Our sincere thanks to the staff at Three Pillars in Dousman for the staff’s compassionate care for her and our family, where she passed away after a brief illness.
We welcome friends and family to celebrate her life with a Memorial Gathering at Hartson Funeral Home in Hales Corners on October 18th from 11 AM – 2 PM.
