Carol M. Szontagh, 75, of Port Washington, WI passed away on December 21, 2020. She was
born in Chicago on May 26, 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred J. and Anna
Mae Mortensen, and her first husband of 19 years, Willard R. Stranz. Her memory will be
carried on by her second husband of 32 years, Ralph B. Szontagh, her loving daughters Lisa
(Russell) Siebold, Julie (Thomas) Zehner, Beth (Edward) Christianson, step sons Robert (Paula)
Szontagh, Rick (Tammy) Szontagh and Tom (Lorraine) Szontagh. Carol cherished her
grandchildren, Sandra (Tyler) Bade, Carlie Siebold, Cameron Zehner, Jack Zehner (Shauna
MacMillian), Mackenzie Zehner, Margaret Christianson, Patrick Christianson, and beloved great
grandson, Myles Bly Zehner. She was the loving sister of Jerry (Susan) Mortensen, sister-in-law
to Gerry (Gail) Szontagh, dear aunt, cousin, and treasured friend to many. Carol's passion was
her family. She was a connoisseur of crafts and had a talent for floral designs. Everyone who
knew her was proud and blessed to be her friend. She had a smile that would light up the room
and a contagious laugh that would warm your heart.

A celebration of life for Carol will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Fox River Preserve - Shelter B, 28500 N. Roberts Road, Port Barrington, IL. Refreshments will be served. Regrets to Beth by 7/6 at (847) 721-4221
