Carol Lynn Wells, born January 26th, 1951, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, July 1st 2023 in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
As the matriarch of a large family, Carol held many roles in which she cherished. She was a devoted mother to Teri (Sara) Wells, Kristy (Chad) Jansen, Wendy (Matthew) Kasper and Steven (Tammy) Wells. A reliant Aunt/Bonus mom to Donald (Laura) Nehmer and Dennyse Slawny.
A loving grandmother to Kelsey (José), Brianna, Isabella, Cheyenne, Natalie, Michael, Liam, Charlie, Corbin, Savanna, Finley, Silas, Kane and Remy. An admired "Eema" to John Barrett (Lauren), Emily, Sarah (Kyle). Great Aunt Mackenzie, Austin, Kayden, Audrey, Taylar, Russell and Max. A caring "Gigi" to John Ray. And most importantly, a sincere best-friend of 54 years to Marie (Louis) Ullerich. Carol was also a dedicated sister to Linda Nell and Special Aunt to Lori (Dale) Sacharski, Jamie Frazier and Nikki (Marty) Schultz.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Margaret Rasmussen, her sister Gail (Joseph) Sorrenti, her ex-husband David Wells, son in law Brian Slawny, her grandchildren Drew and Dylan, and her nieces, Julie and Tracy. Carol also had many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends she was looking forward to seeing in Heaven.
Carol was an admirable woman who dedicated her life to her family. She selflessly took on additional roles to support them, including becoming a primary caregiver to those in need, the president of PTA, a lunch helper, the school secretary and devout supporter of many grandchildren's activities and interests. There wasn't an event, phone call, birthday or chat she would miss.
Carol's faith and trust in her Lord was her driving force. The Lord was her light during her 31-year-long battle with breast cancer, and she heavily leaned on Him, as her world so often leaned on her. Carol thoroughly enjoyed baking, telling stories of her childhood, talking on the phone with her "bestie" Marie, having breakfast with friends, reading, watching "old country westerns," seeing hundreds of movies at the theater, and listening to The Supremes. But most of all, she excitedly shared the Lord with anyone who would listen.
Carol is already so missed by her family and friends. Her service will be held on Thursday, July 6th at 1pm to 2pm with service at 2pm.
