Obituary

February 13, 2014, surrounded by his family, Charlie found peace at the age of 81 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is the loving husband of Joan (nee Schultz) of 59 1/2 years. Devoted father of Pamela (Tim) Larson, Debra (Craig) Sipola, and Charles Jr. (Carrie) Perock. Dear brother of Cheryl (Jack) Schweitzer. Proudest Papa of Amanda, Brad, Taylor, Emma, Ryan, Carly, and Hunter. He is further survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by sister Patricia (Carl) Koch, and parents Charles and Fern. Charlie was born on May 27, 1932. He graduated from Nathan Hale High School, class of 1950, and served in the US Army. He was a devoted employee of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal Company for over 35 years as a carpenter. Charlie had a heart as big as the great outdoors. The only thing bigger was his love of family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, playing cards, cribbage, and spending time at the cabin and in Florida. He had a great sense of humor and could tell a great story. Papa was the #1 fan in the stands at all of his grandchildren's sporting events. A special thank you to the McCarthy family for their neverending support throughout Charlie's illness. It was much appreciated. Charlie will be dearly missed but will live on in the hearts of all who loved him forever. 'Just one last Cast...'Visitation:As per his wishes, Charlie will be cremated with a private celebration of his life at a later date.
