Obituary

Deacon Chester A. Moczydlowski

Returned peacefully to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 27, 2024. Chester was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth, and "Pa" "Da" "Dad" to the late Den, Tom, Sue (Mike) and Jim Trepanier. "Papa" and "Grandpa" to Jodi, Becki, Jenelle, the late Jamie and "Great Grandpa" to RJ, Jena, Ryan and Dalton. Brother to the late Lonny and Harvey (Sally, nieces, and nephews) and a loving companion to "Charlie".

Chester served 23 years in military service which included tours in Korea and Vietnam, receiving a Purple Heart, and upon returning from active duty, was ordained a Permanent Deacon who served the Church of Milwaukee for 40+ years in his caring ministry to the military veterans, sick shut-ins and the poor. At the VA, he was honored to serve with Fr. Norm Oswald and Rev. Dan Fitten.

Chester was a man who "prayed more in one day than most of us pray in a week" and his house looked like a shrine to Jesus and his favorite saints. With full belief in the Resurrection and at his request during his years struggling with Alzheimer's Disease, Deacon Chester will be remembered at a future, private, family Resurrection Service at the Hartson Funeral Home on Janesville Road. Interment will be with his wife Elizabeth at the Veteran's Cemetery in Union Grove.

Special thanks to Andy and the entire staff at Harbor Village where Deacon Chester lived out his last years.
Charitable donations may be made in his memory to the St. Ann's Intergenerational Ministry, or any Veterans groups.

May he rest in the Peace of Jesus Christ who he served so faithfully in his life on earth.
