Daniel R. Benzinger of West Allis passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021. Dan was born December 2, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI. He was proud to have served his country in the US Navy where he learned his skills to become a chef. On April 11, 1964 Dan married Mary Hebein and they made the Milwaukee area their home. Dan was a chef at various country clubs, owned his own home improvement business and worked at Miller Brewery, retiring in 1999. Dan enjoyed watching the Brewers and Packers games, Nascar races, going on fishing trips, camping with family and friends and he belonged to the West Allis Wood Workers Club where he handmade many gifts and projects for his family.

Dan will be greatly missed by his 5 children: Theresa (Joseph) Mehrwerth, Karin (Jeffrey) Strubel, Danny (Carrie) Benzinger, Julie (RC) Schroeder, Michael Benzinger (Rebecca Biskupski); 17 grandchildren: Stephanie (Paul), Steve (Samantha), Jacki, Ryan, Jake (fiancé Melissa), Jeremy (fiancé Dana), Alec, Samantha, Matt, Ben, Andrew, Anthony, Michel, Lukas, Jack, Emma and Edwyn; 6 great-grandchildren: Caleb, Colin, Zachary, Greyson, Lucille and Brynlee. His Brothers: Mark (Carol) and Joseph (Sharrie) Brother/Sister-in-law: Peter (Sheila) Hebein and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and longtime friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary, Parents: Roy and Loraine, Sister: Corrine, In-laws: Jacob & Jennie Hebein; Brother-in-laws: Rev. James Hebein and Joseph Hebein, Sister-in-law: Audrey Hebein.

A celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Hartson Funeral Home. Visitation will be 11:00am to 1:00pm. Service will begin at 1:00pm and burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Milwaukee.
