Obituary

Hoffmann, David A. Died peacefully at home on June 12, 2011, at age 87. Best friend and husband of 62 years of Clara (nee Jaeger). Devoted father of Linda (the late Greg Manson) (Denis) Fraser, Cindy Hapka, Chris (John) Reichert, and Darlene Kruse. Loving grandpa of Michelle (Greg) Meyer, Jackie (Jeff) Maldari, the late Jeff Manson, Jim (Laura) Reichert, Tim (Amy) Reichert, Elizabeth (Dan) Hancock, Mark (Rachel) Reichert, Charles Kruse, and Andrew Hapka. Great-grandpa of Alex, Kristen, Briana, Claire, little Jeff, Will, Laura and Madison. Further survived by step-sister Shirley Zaeske, sisters-in-law Martha (the late John) Jaeger, Ruth (the late Francis) Jaeger and Betty (the late Ed) Jaeger, nieces, nephews and friends. Son of the late Rose K. Schultz. Further preceded in death by Margaret (Jerry) Batchelor, Gertrude (Dick) Goniu and Catherine (George) Braun. David worked at the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Dept. for 33 years, retiring as a Lieutenant; he served as the first president of the Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriffs Association. He was a life member of the Krejci-Braun-Meyer VFW Post# 7485. David was a veteran of WWII, having served as a paratrooper in Panama, in the 81st Airbourne Division.A special thank you to VNA Hospice caregivers Cheryl, Amy, Michael, Mary, and Oza.Cemetery:Interment to follow at Highland Memorial Park.Visitation:A visitation will be held at the Funeral Home Sunday, June 19, from 4 to 7PM.Service:Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 20, 10AM, at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 9306 W. Beloit Rd., Milwaukee.
