David J. Reesman, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, at the age of 67.

David was a man of deep faith, a devoted husband who loved his wife with his whole heart, and a proud patriot who held a deep respect for his country. More than anything, David loved people. He treated everyone he met with dignity, respect, and grace. He truly never met a stranger and was always excited to make a new friend. In his own words, he would often say, “I know I am an acquired taste; they’ll either learn to love me, or they won’t.” Those who knew him knew there was plenty to love.

David had a gift for encouraging others, especially young men. Through his steadfast faith in God, he showed them how to recognize their God-given worth and talents. He believed faith provided something nothing else could and taught others not only how to walk with Christ, but also how to be men of character and conviction, reminding them that chivalry and integrity still matter.

David and his beloved wife, Lori, are active members of Redeeming Grace Church. There, David faithfully served by helping with offerings and communion and by mentoring young men. Every Monday evening, he opened his home to lead Bible study, creating a place where faith, fellowship, and friendship flourished.

David and Lori shared a love for adventure. Some trips were carefully planned, while others were wonderfully spontaneous. Together they explored Wisconsin, New Mexico, Kentucky, Arizona, Florida, Colorado, Nevada and Kansas. They enjoyed hiking — especially along lakesides — biking, four-wheeling and even attempted kayaking. After deciding he had no interest in drowning, David declared “Safety first!” and chose to stick with other recreational pursuits. Though, as those who rode with him know, “safe driver” may not have been one of the titles he earned. If you know, you know.

David also had a tremendous sweet tooth and never passed up the opportunity for ice cream. He left this world with a full heart and a deep peace, and those who loved him rejoice knowing that he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

If David could leave us with one final message, it would be this: Live life large, walk the walk, love others well, and rely on God to carry you through it all.

David is lovingly survived by his wife of thirteen and a half years, Lori Reesman; his son, David Reesman; his stepson, Patrick Ulickey; his siblings, Pam (Bill) Saxelby, Dennis (Darlene) Golden, Scott Golden, Beth (Roy) Acton, and Jim (Erin) Reesman; his stepmother, Janet Nolan; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, June (née Garland) Reesman and James Reesman; his brother, Patrick Reesman; his sister, Christine Golden; and his sister-in-law, Cathy Golden. In heaven, he is joyfully reunited with his faithful companion, Prince, his beloved dog.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Redeeming Grace Church, 4800 S. Calhoun Road, New Berlin, Wisconsin 53151. The services will be from 10:00 to 12:00 noon with a luncheon to follow at the church.
