Dennis W. Dwyer of Burlington was born to eternal life on Oct. 28 at the age of 67.

Beloved husband and lifelong love for more than 44 years of Jan (nee Harper). Cherished dad of Dr. Christopher Dwyer and Jessica Dwyer. Much loved grandpa of Maitlin and Coen Dwyer. Dear brother of Pat Dwyer, Kate Joerres and Mick (Donna) Dwyer. Also lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.

Preceded to heaven by his parents, William and Bernice Dwyer.

Born in La Crosse, Dennis graduated from the University of WI with a teaching degree. He worked for a number of years at Kohl's Foods and later he served as a teacher in the Waukesha School System where he taught students with emotional and developmental disabilities.

Throughout his life, Dennis excelled as an athlete especially in baseball and basketball. As a devoted dad, Dennis served as his children's primary caretaker for a number of years. He also supported his children's youth sports activities as both a coach and a devoted fan. Dennis especially was known for his caring of all creatures, great and small.

He is best remembered for his satiric wit, love of God and family, and for working his hardest to do what was best for those he loved. Although his health suffered due to heart disease in his last few years, Dennis enjoyed life to its fullest and was much loved and appreciated by those closest to him.

A private service is being planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dennis's memory may be given to St. Thomas of Canterbury Church of Greendale, WI or to the American Heart Association.
