Doris Sylvia Elaine (Olmstead) Zimmermann finished an exemplary life of 92 years on November 5, 2015 surrounded by family in Milwaukee, WI. Doris was born to Harry and Florence Olmstead in Janesville, Wisconsin on April 21, 1923 and attended Janesville High School. While employed at the Parker Pen Co., she enlisted in the Navy for service during World War II. In 1950, she married Leroy Zimmermann of Sheboygan and they eventually settled in West Milwaukee where they ran Zimmermann's Home Pharmacy. Doris moved on to a career as an executive assistant in the library at the VA Medical Center until her retirement. She is survived by her loving companion Myron Heffernan; children John, Brian (Mary), Rick (Seung-Oh), Karen (Beth), Kristine McLean (Mike) and David (Heidi); her grandchildren Danielle, Brittany, Hannah, Lisa, Greta and Josef; sister-in-law Marlene Zimmermann and many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. Doris joins her husband Leroy Zimmermann; parents Florence and Harry Olmstead and siblings Jean Tarpley, Duane Olmstead, Nancy Kidder and dear in-laws who preceded her in death and will welcome her home. Visitation will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church 3022 W. Wisconsin Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53208 on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 10AM-12PM with a Funeral Service at 12PM.
