Douglas E. Stehr (Hales Corners) - 78yrs

Born February 11, 1943 to Alfred and Hazel Stehr. Entered into Eternal Life on December 18, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 78. Douglas leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Virginia "Ginny" Stehr; his son Douglas "Randy" (Trisha) Stehr; and brother Richard (Alice) Stehr and grandchildren, great grandchildren, a niece and friends. He was preceded in death by his sons Christopher, Mathew and Timothy: and his parents Alfred and Hazel.

Douglas was born and raised in Wisconsin. He grew up in Elroy, WI and graduated from Royall HS class of '61. In college he played for the Racine Raiders, semi pro football team, until a debilitating leg injury benched his football career. He was a graduate of MSOE's Electrical Engineering program. He was proud to say he started working for Harley Davidson Motor Company in 1964, travelled the world and retired from the company 42yrs later as their Sr. Project Engineer. Aside from being a workaholic, Douglas did find time for fun. He spent time camping with his boys, tinkering on electronics - even built his own computer in the early 80's and enjoyed spending time as a Ham radio operator; call name Stroker71. In the 70's, Doug competed at Union Grove Raceway with custom built drag bikes he built and raced. He also won numerous awards as accomplished marksman. But nothing could compare to the love he felt for his beautiful wife Ginny, his "sweetie" whom he married in Las Vegas in 2002. Doug and Ginny enjoyed traveling, fine dining, riding his Harley and listening to live music.

A Memorial will be held from 4pm-6pm on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Hartson Funeral Home (11111 W. Janesville Rd., Hales Corners, WI 53130).
