Obituary

Holterman, Earl William Age 84, died peacefully in his home surrounded by family on May 2, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Franklin on September 22, 1927, the son of the late William and Julia (nee Acker) Holterman. On April 28, 1951, in Sacred Heart Church, St. Martins, he was united in marriage to the former Lucille C. Heinz, who preceded him in death on March 8, 1997. Earl worked as a mason and farmer until farming exclusively until his death. His dairy herd reached the top Dairy Herd Improvement ranking in Wisconsin. He loved farming and couldn't wait to get on the fields in the spring. He loved playing cards with his family. Surviving are his children, Larry (Amy) Holterman of Milton, Barbara (Bill) Rice of Thorp, David (Maricel) Holterman of Caledonia, Donna (Wayne) Bennett of Lowell, Jim (Cheryl) Holterman of Caledonia, Joe (Tracy) Holterman of Muskego; 14 grandchildren, David (Joni) Holterman, Dan (Amber) Holterman, Bill Rice, Jr., Christopher, Brittany, and Kelsey Holterman, Marshall and Matthew Bennett, Kevin and Ryan Holterman, Amanda, Joe, Jr., Nikki, and Jake Holterman; 5 great-grandchildren, Samantha, McKenna, Evan, Jackson, Nicholas, Holterman; brothers and sisters, Verne Funk of Caledonia, June Michel of Franksville, Lois Mainus of Franklin, Ray (Carol) Holterman of Franklin, Lloyd (Rose) Holterman of Watertown; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Florence Haake, Ellie Ropeter, Mary Balthazor, Delores (Louis) Wisniewski, Sylvester Heinz, Clarence (June) Heinz; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, his wife, his son (Raymond), and his sister, Lorraine preceded him in death. A private burial service will be held. The family wishes to especially thank Father Mark as well as Dr. Brenda Pierce of the Oncology Alliance and Maxine, Anna and Kara from Aurora Visiting Nurse Association for their compassionate care.Visitation:Visitation will be at St. Louis Catholic Church, 13207 County Road G, Caledonia, WI, on May 6, 2012, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM.Service:A Mass of Christian Burial will follow, Father Mark Danczyk officiating.
