Born at home in a cold farmhouse February 2, 1937
Went to the Lord on a cold day on January 26 2022

Eleanor (Ellie) Ann Welsch (nee Peskie)

At the age of 84 went peacefully into her savior's arms in the presence of her loving family on the cold morning of Wednesday, January 26th. Born February 2, 1937 to Thomas Michael and Grace Marie Peskie of Amhurst WI. She married David A. Welsch on October 4, 1958. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1990.

She was the eighth child out of ten. Eleanor was preceded in death by Angeline, Luella, Terry, Florence, Thomas, Marie, and Clifford. Ellie is survived by her sisters Monica and Marge.

Imagine being born in a cold farmhouse with only a wood burning stove for a furnace, no running water and only an outhouse. Ellie told stories about waking up early to milk cows before walking two miles in all types of weather to school in a one room schoolhouse.

Envision moving from slow farm life to a fast-paced city when you were 17 years old. While in high school, she had to spend nights watching over her Dad while he died of cancer.

Four years later she married David A. Welsch, only to compete for his attention with his boy scout troop for the first year of their marriage. The next year their first child, Kathy, was born (she and her husband Jerry provided a caring place for Ellie at the end of her life). Jeanne, their second girl, was born one day less than a year after Kathy. Jeanne took Ellie traveling to Paris and the Florida Keys, among other places. Three years later their third girl, Pam was born; she later competed with Ellie in triathlons, which Ellie started at the age of 69 years old.

After 11 years a surprise came to her family! Ellie was 39 years old, and a son, David Michael was born. This became a true blessing because 15 years later her husband David A. went to be with the Lord. This provided Ellie with a son who could be with her and love her.

After her son David graduated from high school, she moved to a side-by-side duplex with her sister Florence. Though they lived side by side, they would continue to call each other every night on the phone. After the yard work was getting to be too much, she moved into Deer Creek Independent Living, where she lived for 10 years, continuing to enjoy the YMCA, triathlons, and her family.

Ellie would like to thank the YMCA members and staff, ADRC Choe, Kathleen and Carmen, Aurora Hospice staff, Andrea, and Chaplains Matthew and Curretta. In addition, a huge thank you for Geri at Deer Creek and Bob and Cindy at the Hartson Funeral Home.

Ellie is survived by daughters Kathy G. Welsch (Jerry Porubcan) of New Berlin, Jeanne M. Welsch of Colorado, Pamela M. Poglitsch (David) of Brookfield, and son David M. Welsch (Colleen) of Mukwonago. She is further survived by two grandsons, Bryen R. Wenzel and Asher L. Welsch, six granddaughters, Tegan J., Teah J., Kelsey R. Fox, Jennifer R. Fox, Lucia Eleanor Welsch, and Dahlia C. Welsch, and Great grandson Tever W. Welsch. She also enjoyed her Great Granddaughter Finley M. Wenzel for the past year.

We want to thank all the family members, relatives and friends held dear in our hearts.
