Ellen Jane Sprawls (née Hansen) was born on December 5, 1933, in West Allis, Wisconsin to Hans Hansen and Mildred Hansen (née Klug). Ellen passed away on February 14, 2026. She was 92 years of age.

Ellen was a loving mother to her three children Jon (Sandy), Amy and Robert Sprawls. She was a grandmother to Dominic, who shared her birthday, and to Alexandria. She is survived by her sisters Laurel (Robert) Evans and Gayle (Richard) Pawlak as well as many nieces and nephews. Ellen had a special place in her heart for her dog, Coco, and her cat, Cisco, who brought her great joy and companionship.

Ellen had a passion for reading, listening to operas and classical music, gardening and golfing, all of which brought her both relaxation and fulfillment. Whether tending to her gardens or enjoying a day at the golf course, she found happiness in the simple pleasures of life.

Retired from Kmart, Ellen met monthly with fellow retirees for lunch and/or golfing. She also enjoyed going thrifting with her friend Mary, whose friendship she cherished, as well as her friendships with Claudine and Silvija.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Mildred Hansen; her brothers Glenn (Janet) Hansen; Jerry Hansen; her sister Karen Hansen; and her stepmother Edel Hansen.

Ellen’s memory will live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
