Eric Rutowski, A loving Husband to Leanne and an amazing father to his two children Max and Lillian. Eric touched countless lives during his years teaching at Mukwonago High School by sharing his love of the arts and his devotion to spreading joy and knowledge. He spread his love and humor with everyone that knew him. He was deeply admired for his intelligence, courage, loyalty, disposition and humor.

Born June 25th, 1969, in Fort Hood, Texas, Eric was raised by his loving parents Ron and Dawn in Waukesha WI. He was the oldest of five, raised with his siblings Twila, Rebecca, Jared and Nathan. During his childhood he spent his time in his community among church groups, neighbors and Boy Scouts. Eric rose to the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 16. In his teenage years, Eric met his future Wife Leanne while working at Bartz Party Store in Brookfield.

After High School he began college at BYU Hawaii. He would then return to Wisconsin to finish his bachelor's degree at Carroll University. During his time in Waukesha, he fell in love with Leanne who he would marry in 1991. He began working as an Art Teacher at Mukwonago High School in 1993. Eric's love of learning pushed him to go back to school while working at MHS, and while starting his family with Leanne, to earn his Master of Education at National Louis University. In over the three decades he has taught countless students who have been blessed with his passion, joy and knowledge of the arts.

As a husband, Eric was a constant source of support and strength to Leanne. Their bond was one built on trust, laughter and mutual admiration. Through life's ups and downs, they stood side by side, embracing the joys and weathering the storms together. Eric's love for Leanne was unconditional and unwavering, providing her with a sense of security, love, strength that will continue to guide her and her children.

Eric and Leanne welcomed their son Max into the world in October of 1997 and welcomed their daughter Lillian in April of 2002. Eric loved his children immensely; he instilled a hunger for knowledge and creativity in them both. He poured his heart and soul into their upbringing, nurturing them with kindness, compassion and humor.

Eric shared his love of travel and exploration with his family, taking them all across the country on summer and winter vacations. His children and wife have many memories of laughter, smiles and pure joy from these journeys. Erics' legacy will continue with them as they carry his greatest qualities forward.

Eric left this world on June 28th, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness and unwavering dedication.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at Hartson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 pm.
