Erla Mae Lanke (nee Weis)Age 85, reunited with her beloved Eddie on March 8, 2018. Loving mother of LuAnn (John Fauber) and treasured grandmother of Campbell, Harrison, and Remy. Dear sister of Walter, and sister-in-law of Phyllis, Richard, Beverly, Marion, Lowell, and Carol. Mother-in-law of Harry Stasik. Loved by many, many others. Preceded in death by her husband Edward of 58 years, her daughter, DiAnn, and her brother, Fred.Erla was 4'11" of spit and vinegar, sunshine and sparkle. She was creative, giving, a wonderful baker and a terrible cook, but her husband never complained. They were pen pals for a year before they ever met. Ed was an injured Marine, recuperating at a military hospital during the Korean War when, by chance, he got her name and address. She was barely 18 when she mailed her first letter to Seoul. They met at his coming home party in May and were married by Thanksgiving. Raised in an orphanage and foster homes, Erla said her life began when she met her husband.
