Eugene “Gene” Best, Age 79 Pewaukee, WI.

Loving husband, best friend, devoted father, and amazing grandpa.

Gene was committed to making our world a better place by volunteering at the Waukesha Elks Lodge #400. He retired after 32 years from Milwaukee Public Schools, 18 of which he spent as the Engineer of Engleburg Elementary School. He was proud to have served his country as a drill instructor teaching hand to hand combat during Vietnam.

Gene loved to camp with family and friends. He enjoyed both his vegetable and flower gardens. He often tinkered around the house with various projects. He will be missed by his wife of 57 years, Susan Ann, his daughter, Jennifer (Pete) Centner, son, Mark (Melissa) Best, grandchildren; Brandon and Brad Huckeby and Addison Best, and great-grandchildren; Benjamin and Blake Huckeby, Waukesha Elks Lodge #400, extended family and friends.

Private family services were held. Inurnment Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Park.
