Eugene J. Feuling, "Gene", passed away at the age of 91, on Tuesday, June 9th, at home, surrounded by his family, after a valiant fight with several health challenges.  He fought with courage and grit relying on his deep faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.  Gene was born at home on May 15th, 1935 on Maple Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Laverne A. and Bessie E. (Hill) Feuling.  He was the second of four children including Barbara, Mary Jane and Don.

Soon after his birth the family moved to 60th Street in Greendale, Wisconsin.  Gene would remain a Greendale resident for the entirety of his life.

At the young age of 17 Gene joined the United States Navy.  He proudly served in the Korean War during his enlistment from 1952-1956 followed by four years as a reservist.  Upon his return in 1956 he courted his future wife, Kathy Wright, for four years.  Gene and Kathy married in 1960, a union that would last 66 plus years.  In 1963 they would start their family with the birth of their son, Michael, two years later their first daughter, Ann, was born, and lastly, in 1967 their twin daughters, Therese and Janet arrived.  Gene's pride and joy was his family including a strong love for all of his dogs; Spotch, Cinders, Jenny, Sandy, BeXar, and BeXarII.

Gene worked tirelessly for his family, working 37 years as a die cutter and supervisor, for Western States Envelope Company.  He was an incredibly reliable and knowledgeable worker, so much so that he was recruited to train and supervise new employees.  When not working, relaxing in his recliner, watching Westerns or war movies, or fixing things around the house, Gene loved to fish as well as go hunting for pheasant, duck and deer with his brother, Don, and son, Michael.  He also enjoyed going up north to the "Little House" on the lake.  You could also find Gene with a bowl of ice cream, a pecan sundae, or an ice cold root beer.

One of Gene's most treasured memories was his trip, with his daughter Ann, on the Wisconsin Honor Flight to Washington D.C. to visit the Korean War Memorial.  This visit, along with other wonderful experiences, made him feel his service to the United States was important and honorable.

Gene is survived by his wife, Kathy, his children; Michael (Linda) Feuling, Ann Hagle, Therese (Tyrone) Cratic, and Janet (Bennet) Zweifel.  His grandchildren; Kelser (Brandy) Feuling, Tyrone Cratic-Williams, Allison Feuling, Samantha (Bob) Callewaert, Rebecca (Mitchell) Behnke, Riley Zweifel, Cameron Cratic, and Logan Zweifel; and great-grandchildren Luna Callewaert, Elivia Mealing and Addison Poeschel.  His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought Gene immense happiness and pride.  He loved spending time with them and hearing all of their life accomplishments and adventures.  Gene also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces who he loved dearly.

Gene was preceded in death by his father Laverne, mother Bessie, sister Barbara Redelings, brother Don Feuling, sister Mary Jane Zimmermann, father-in-law Don R. Wright, mother-in-law Marie Wright, sister-in-law Marilyn Wright, sister-in-law Carol Wright, nephew John Redelings, niece Linda Zimmermann, and nephew Ralph Redelings.

A celebration of Gene's life will be held on Friday, June 19th at:

St. Alphonsus Church, 6060 W. Loomis Road, Greendale, WI.  Visitation 9:30-11:00 am, with Mass 11:00-12:00.  Burial 12:00-12:45 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery
