Florence Josephine Mineau (nee Peskie)of Menomonee Falls found peace on November 15th 2016 at the age of 86 after a short courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Florence was born on March 29th, 1930 at home on the family farm near Amherst Junction, WI. She was the fourth daughter born to Thomas Peskie and Grace Sankey. She had two brothers and seven sisters.Her early life was spent working on the family farm, milking cows and tending the fields while attending the one room school in Lanark. She graduated with the class of 1948 from P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point, WI.After high School, Florence moved to Milwaukee and worked in the Milwaukee Transport Company Offices. While there she met the love of her life, James D. Mineau. Florence and Jim were married on February 18th 1952 at Saint Patrick's Church in Amherst WI. Jim joined the Air Force during the Korean War, and Florence moved with him to Valdosta, Georgia and Del Rio, Texas. While in Texas, she worked for the Laughlin Air Force Base as an accountant. Florence became an accomplished waterskier while in Del Rio. Her love of the sport continued into later life as she skied until she was 70 years old. She was fond of saying that she could ski the entire lake without getting more than her feet wet.Florence and Jim returned to the Milwaukee area and worked together remodeling their house and building cabins near Montello, WI. Florence was a lifelong learner and loved to investigate and read about a variety of topics.She was preceeded in death by her husband Jim, her parents, Thomas and Grace, siblings Angeline(Holtz), Luella(Kuziminski), Terry(Wiseman), Marie Peskie, Tom Peskie, and grandson Aaron Merrill. She is survived by her 3 children, Mary(Dean) Merrill from Fond du Lac WI, Jim (Kris) Mineau from Park Falls WI and Suzette Mineau from Menomonee Falls WI, nine grandchildren and one great grandson. She is also survived by four brothers and sisters, Monica Tschantz, Eleanor(Dave) Welsch, Marge (Elmer) Niehoff, Cliff (Roseanne) PeskieFlo will be buried with her loving husband Jim at Wood National Cemetary in a private ceremony. Family and friends are invited to a celebration luncheon in honor of Flo at Maxim Family Resturant 18025 Capitol Dr., Brookfield WI at 1 pm on November 25th.
