Gertrude
“Gertie"
Bojarski, age 83, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication,
and quiet strength.
She was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Victor and Mary (Alfonsi) Maxinoski.
Gertrude was preceded in life by her close-knit family and shared a special bond with her twin sister,
Margaret (Maxinoski) Tangney, as well as her brother, Cornelius.
Gertie was known for her creativity, generosity, and love of baking, sewing, and knitting. She found
great joy in teaching her grandchildren how to knit and took pride in sharing her talents with others.
Many community volunteer programs benefited from her time and compassion, including knitting hats
for newborn babies, creating quilts for hospice patients, making beautiful memory bears for grieving
families, and thoughtfully altering nightgowns to provide comfort and dignity during end-of-life care.
Through her handiwork, Gertie offered warmth, comfort, and love to countless people, many of whom
she never met but deeply cared for.
A dedicated and hardworking professional, Gertrude spent many years employed at Aurora West Allis
Medical Center, where she was respected for her strong work ethic and commitment to those she served
as a pharmacy technician.
Gertrude was the beloved wife of Jerome Bojarski. Together, they built a life centered on family. She is
survived by her children: Jeffery (Dawn), Christopher (Rebecca), Beth (Mark Winter), Joel (Sarah), and
Lea (Ralph) Vogt. She is further survived by 13 beautiful grandchildren: Katelyn Bojarski, Hannah
Bojarski, Madeline Bojarski, Sophia Bojarski, Madison Bojarski, Ian Bojarski, Camden Bojarski, Luke
Bojarski, Ava Bojarski, Eric Vogt, Beth Vogt (Tupper), Lauren Vogt (Seitz), and Alexander Vogt. She is
also survived by 3 great grandchildren.
She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister,
aunt, cousin and friend whose kindness and steady presence touched all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all whose lives she touched.
