Gloria Marie Hoeft, age 82, peacefully entered eternal rest in her Hales Corners home, embraced by the comforting presence of her family.
Born on September 17, 1942, in Milwaukee, WI, Gloria was a lifelong resident of the Milwaukee area. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1960 and took great pride in her Polish heritage, often sharing fond memories of her involvement with the Polish National Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sally Wrzeski (née Lizewski), her eldest daughter, Dawn, and her aunts and uncles. Gloria was the adored wife of Robert Hoeft, with whom she recently celebrated 50 years of marriage, and the loving mother of Dawn (Tom) Sniezek, Carol (Rob) Lisowski and Amy (Cale) Ostrowski. She was a cherished grandmother to Jennifer, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Steven, Alina, Emily and Caleb, and a beloved great-grandmother to Sarah and Leo. Gloria also enjoyed many fun family times with her cousin, Walt (Pat) Morzy, and extended family.
Gloria proudly served as family matriarch, enjoying such things as cooking, baking, and her highly complimented home décor. She took joy in preparing favorite meals for her family and ensuring that every birthday was celebrated with a special cake made just for them.
She enjoyed gardening, camping, day trips, family time and holidays that she made memorable. Always one to put her best face forward, she instilled a great sense of pride in her daughters. She prioritized time with her husband, with whom she enjoyed many day trips, camping, Cedarburg and Door County visits, and many good Mama Mia's pizzas and Leon's sundaes.
Gloria had a lifelong love for animals and shared her time with many pet companions. Among her greatest loves in life was her heart-dog Dalmatian, Maizy.
A private celebration of life will occur at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, Gloria's heart would be happy if you donated toward an animal rescue of your choice in honor of your own furry loved ones.
Gloria's life was one of love, family and cherished traditions. She taught us the joy of togetherness, the importance of a shared meal and the value of a warm heart. Though we say goodbye for now, we will carry her love with us always.
