Gordon Allen Nickchen, 80, sailed into eternity July 8, 2019. Born in Milwaukee to Paul and Mavelle (Van de Kamp), he attended Holy Cross, Marquette High School, and Marquette University, earning a BS in Electrical Engineering, and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). He worked over 30 years at Wisconsin Electric Power Company as a transmission forecast planning engineer, and he was also an avid sailor and lifetime member of South Shore Yacht Club (SSYC) as well as Marquette University's and Oconomowoc's Lac La Belle's sailing clubs.

Gordon enjoyed music and playing cards, games, and competitions of all kinds. Family cross-country travel adventures topped his favorites list, too.

He is survived by Phyllis, lifelong partner and wife of 55 years, children Suzanne (Peter deceased) Bemis, Julie (Chris) Lindell, John (Danelle), Dan (Megan), and 9 grandchildren: Ethan, Nicholas, Val, Evan, Zoe, Jake, Wesley, Emily, and Jaylyn. Loving brother of Lois (Don/ deceased) Aller, Roy (Joan), and Ruth (Leonard) Schacht. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother.

Funeral Mass will be 11am, Monday, July 29, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Faith Community Church, 9520 W. Forest Home Ave., Hales Corners, following 9:30 am visitation at the church.
