Gregory D. "The Duke" OlsonAt age 64, found peace surrounded by family and friends on January 11, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife Serita(nee Holzer) of 43 years, and two wonderful sons, Sonny (Kristine) and Neil. Loving son of Theresa and the late Glen Olson. Beloved brother of Brian (Margo), Glenda (Mike) Olszowy, and Stephanie. Loving son-in-law of Helen Holzer. Greg treasured his many nieces and nephews, cousins, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, aunts and uncles, and all his many friends. During Greg's high school years he was employed at Cliffords, The Timbers, and Big Boy. After graduating from Whitnall High School in 1969, Greg became a tool and die apprentice at Capitol Engineering and later worked at Ehlert and then Badger pattern. In 1995 Greg and Serita opened the doors of their family business, Olson's Outdoor Power in Muskego. Years later the "Olson's Power Hour" was created on AM 1130 Radio. Family and friends were always included in the many Canadian fishing trips. Greg enjoyed hunting, playing and coaching softball, playing hockey and coaching hockey at MSOE from 1994 - 1995. Greg loved racing his #99 F500 race car at Road America and Blackhawk Farms. Greg liked gardening and cooking, often preparing large meals to share with family and friends. He also hosted many cook-outs and bonfires. Greg was a devoted family man, and special friend to many. His family thanks all who have shared stories and have given comfort and love during this time. Thanks to the community for their support during blood drives and bone marrow transplant fund-raisers held at Olson's Outdoor Power in the past months. Sincere thanks to the Froedtert Hospital staff for their loving and compassionate care, especially Dr. Laura Michaelis and Dr. Marcelo Pasquini. Thanks to the ICU at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, with a special thanks to Sara. Memorial Gathering to be held Sunday, January 24th, 1 to 4 PM at Bush Gardens, S68 W14891 Janesville Rd, Muskego. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted at Olson's Outdoor Power. Make checks payable to "Stars and Stripes Honor Flights" or "Froedtert Hospital Bone Marrow Research".
