Harry Anton Ruminski – born January 15, 1937 – passed away September 3, 2026

With heavy hearts yet filled with gratitude, we celebrate the life of Harry A. Ruminski, who passed away peacefully at the age of 89 – a few months shy of his 90th birthday.
He leaves behind a legacy defined by tireless dedication to family, his many athletic endeavors, and above all his favorite titles; Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Brother, and “Hara” (by his wife, extended family and many lifelong friends).
Harry is survived by his wife, Margaret Ruminski (nee Swan); three daughters, Karen (Jeff) Koerner, Shari (Roger) Budzien, and Peggy (Patrick) Glover, his sister Barbara Kapitanski (nee Ruminski) and his grandson, Alexander Harry Glover. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Jeanette Ruminski, his brother, Robert Ruminski, and his third daughter, Donna Marie Ruminski.
Born with natural grit and boundless energy, Harry approached life with a full spirit. In his youth, and again as a senior, Harry was a power-house athlete. Whether he was rounding the bases, competitive swimming, playing volleyball, or golfing with dear friends his competitive spirit was matched only by his sportsmanship. Up until his mid-eighties he retained the discipline and strength of a true competitor. That same relentless drive anchored his work and family life. He believed in the dignity of an honest day’s labor and never shied away from tough tasks or long hours. He worked not for praise or accolades, but to provide a beautiful life for the family he adored.

Yet for all his strength on the ballfield or at work, Harry’s heart was the softest at home. He was the loving husband of Margaret, married just shy of 70 years. As a proud “Girl Dad” to Karen, Shari, Donna and Peggy, he raised his daughters to be strong, independent and confident. He was a “bonus” grandpa to Carrie (Jonathon) Merickel (nee Budzien), Stacy Budzien (Matthew Ruckman) and Nicolas Glover. Harry was also the bonus great-grandfather to Addie and Nate Merickel and Sean, Erin, and Breanne Ruckman.

While Harry enjoyed looking dapper in a suit, please feel free to wear your favorite Wisconsin team apparel to his services.

Services are to be held at Hartson Funeral Home on Saturday, September 12th. Visitation from 11am to 12:45pm – service at 12:45pm with a luncheon to follow at Meyers Family Restaurant.
