Helen Schweitzer, age 85, was called to her heavenly home on May 7, 2024.
Helen was born on November 28, 1938, at home in Mequon, WI; the second of four children born to Robert and Lulu (Kaul) Goeglein. She was baptized and confirmed in faith at Calvary Lutheran Church in Thiensville. She loved Jesus and died a member of St. Jacobi Lutheran Church in Greenfield, WI.
After graduating from Cedarburg High School, Helen met and married Raymond Schweitzer. Together they had two daughters, Pam and Heidi.
Helen was extremely smart and paid attention to details, from spelling to numbers. Her professional pursuits included working at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Milwaukee, WI, and Carnation Company in Jefferson, WI, among other places. Helen attended Alverno College in Milwaukee. She also took courses in interior design, and her living spaces were always lovely.
She was fashionable and worried about her hair until the end. She was beautiful and loved beautiful things. In her youth she loved to dance, and at the end of her life music comforted her.
Helen loved her family fiercely. She is survived by her daughters Pam Zuberbier and Heidi (Sean) Taavao; grandchildren Ben (Hannah) Zuberbier, Luther (Allie) Zuberbier, Mollie (Chris) Cooper, Helena (Dominic) Taavao-Banks, Sophia Taavao; great-grandchildren Teddy, Eloise, Jack, Ray, Bonnie, May, June, Charlie and Violet; brothers Mark (Karen) Goeglein and John (Jeanne) Goeglein. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lulu, sister Ann Ganyo, ex-husband Raymond Schweitzer, and son-in-law Michael Zuberbier.
A Christian funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024, at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church, 8605 W Forest Home Ave., Greenfield, with visitation held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service in church. The service will be officiated by Rev. Timothy Spaude and Rev. Richard Waldschmidt.
