Obituary

Holly Beth (Biernacki) Sutterfield was born in Milwaukee on December 17, 1952, to Eugene and Muriel Biernacki. She graduated from Bay View High School with the Class of 1970 and later joined her father at A.L. Gebhardt & Co.

In September 1978, Holly married Patrick Sutterfield, beginning a loving life together and soon embracing the role she treasured most: being a mother. Her daughters, Erica and Allison, were her pride and joy. Holly often said that becoming a mother changed her life for the better, and her daughters felt that truth every day through her unwavering love, encouragement, and support.

Holly found a second chance to cherish what mattered most with her six grandchildren: Sully, Delia, Muriel Mae (Memee), Wilson, Oliver and Huxley. She delighted in sharing with them the things that made life beautiful to her — the wonder of a flourishing garden, the loyalty and companionship of dogs, the freedom of painting and artistic expression, her deep love of Door County and the treasured traditions made there, and, of course, the simple pleasure of indulging in a favorite treat.

Through these moments, Holly taught her family to slow down, notice beauty, create freely, love deeply, and savor life's sweetest joys. The lessons she shared and the memories she created will remain a cherished part of her
family.

Holly was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Muriel. She is survived by her devoted husband, Patrick; her beloved daughters, Erica (Joe) and Allison (Ryan); her treasured grandchildren, Sully, Delia, Memee, Wilson, Oliver and Huxley; and her caring older sister, Jill (Bob).

Holly will be remembered for the love she gave so generously and the lasting warmth she brought to those fortunate enough to know her. Her family will carry her love with them always.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29th from 3:00pm-6:00pm at Hartson Funeral Home – Hales Corners, 11111 W. Janesville Road. The burial is Thursday, July 30th at 11:00am at Forest Home Cemetery – Halls of History, 2405 W. Forest Home Ave.
