James Poplawski (age 64) of West Allis, WI, beloved husband of Amy (Brynildson) Poplawski, went home to Jesus his Savior on 11/19/22 after a long battle with multiple health issues.

Dear son-in-law of Marie Brynildson of Greenfield, WI, dear brother of Thomas Poplawski (Paula) of Leesburg, Florida, dear brother-in-law of Paul Brynildson of Greenfield, WI, Sanee (Brynildson) Bonnell (Jay) of Oregon, WI, Mark Brynildson (Sondra) of Brentwood, CA, and Kari (Brynildson) Schwab (John) of Pewaukee, WI. Dear uncle of Jason (Jen) Poplawski of Conover, WI, and Michelle (Bill) Heimerl of Dousman, WI. Jim is further survived by several nephews/niece, Shawn (Elena), Aaron (Brenna) and Kelly Brynildson, Noah Schwab and Zak Bonnell as well as other cherished cousins and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Celine Poplawski.

Jim was a proud 1976 alumnus of Thomas Moore High School in Milwaukee, WI. He ran on a state championship cross country team and played on the basketball team during high school. While attending UW-Madison studying business, he solidified his Christian commitment as part of Campus Crusade for Christ.

He was known as "Pops" and was a quick wit, which served him well coaching 6-8th grade boys in basketball at Sacred Heart and St. Alphonsus Catholic churches.

In honor of Jim's memory and love of cooking, please send donation memorials to local food pantries of your choice. The family extends many thanks to Aurora medical staff West Allis Memorial for the great care they provided over the years.

Visitation followed by memorial services will be held at Hartson Funeral Home 11111 W. Janesville Rd., Hales Corners, WI (414-425-9797) from 10AM – noon, with memorial service beginning at noon Saturday December 10, 2022.
