Obituary

Salentine,  James Lee (Jim), of Greenfield, 78, found peace on March 8, 2015, in the care of  Zilber Hospice after complications from cancer. Born  March 30, 1936, in Waukesha to Raymond and Gladys (nee Eck) Salentine.  Former  owner of Ray's Garage, Inc. (later Ray's Towing) of Milwaukee,  WI.  Founder  of the Wisconsin Towing Association and inducted into the International Towing  and Recovery Hall of Fame. Survived by his loving partner of 23 years,  Blanche Moeller; his sons, David, Leonard, Douglas (Jamie) and Mark (Mary  DeBattista); eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; sister, Ruth  Keller; extended family, and countless friends across the United States and  Canada. He will be remembered for his pioneering ideas in the towing and  recovery industry, his guidance and assistance to other towers and those in  need, and his unique, bold and colorful personality. He liked nothing more than  sharing good stories with good friends while having a great meal! To honor Jim's wishes, a celebration of his  life will be held at a later date to be announced. Any donations may go either  toward the celebration or to the American Truck Historical Society in Jim's  name. Email [email protected] for  details.
