Obituary

James Presley Saxon, age 90, was called to his heavenly home on Sunday, August 10th, 2025 while residing at Heritage at Deer Creek Memory Care in New Berlin, WI, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's and Dementia.

James was born on January 12, 1935, to Presley and Claudia (Watts) Saxon in Waterproof, Louisiana. After graduating high school in Ferriday, Louisiana, James joined the Navy and enjoyed traveling the world. After proudly serving his country for four years, he settled down in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and studied at MSOE. He met Annette (Niemuth) and they married December 22, 1962. They eventually settled into their home in New Berlin and raised their two children, David and Donna.

James enjoyed working with his hands and spent over 40 years working for ED Codington, and then for Trace-a-Matic as a machinist, finally retiring in the year 2000.

James was an avid hunter and a lifetime member of the Waukesha Gun Club, where he enjoyed skeet and trapshooting, and even worked part-time doing odds and ends jobs after retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, traveling up north and fixing anything that was broken.

James is survived by his wife Annette (Niemuth) Saxon, daughter Donna Saxon, daughter-in-law Chona (Chenfoo) Saxon, grandson Eron Saxon and granddaughter Mary (Adam) Mueller. In addition he is survived by his brother Talmadge (Jackie) Saxon, sisters Helen Saxon, Rowena (Wayne) Martin, in-laws Leila Buttke, Carla (David) Kuehni, Dan Niemuth and Charles (Charlene) Niemuth, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents Presley and Claudia (Watts) Saxon, son David Saxon, sister Marylou (Sam) Squires, in-laws Gene Morrow, Betty (Ray) Bourassa, Allen (Lucinda) Niemuth, Robert Niemuth and Linda Niemuth, as well as his best friend Al Merschdorf.
