Entered into Eternal Life on July 1, 2018 at the age of 88. Married for 65 years to his bride, the love of his life, Beverly. Beloved father of Ann (Jim) Michalski, Jim (Robin), Patti (Del Wakley), Amy (Al Heintz), John (Carol), Joe (Julie). Grandpa to Luke Michalski (Derek Pleasants), Maggie Michalski, Maddie Wakley, James Wakley, Molly Parchem, Ben Parchem, Emily Washcovick, Joseph Washcovick, Sydney (Alex) Huffhines, Macalister Washcovick, Sophia Washcovick, and great-grandpa to David Huffhines.Jim served in the US Army in the Korean War. He joined the Wauwatosa Fire Department and served for 28 years ending his career as Assistant Fire Chief in 1982. Above all, Jim would most want to be remembered for his faith, his devotion to his family and his unceasing commitment to kindness. "Be kind" was his motto, and he exemplified it throughout his entire life. On a daily basis he could be heard to say: "no one has it better than me." Not true. His family had it even better, all because of him.Visitation at on Friday, July 6, 2018, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 1500 Wauwatosa Avenue, Wauwatosa, WI 53213 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. followed by a memorial mass at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated in Jim's name to the Local Milwaukee Chapter of Christ Child Society or Hope Network for Single Mothers.
