Welsh, James H. "Jim" Of Whitefish Bay, age 87, died March 1, 2011, at home with his loved ones by his side. Jim is survived by a brother Robert Welsh of Iowa City, Ia, two sons Gregory (Maureen) of Cocoa, Fl., and James (Deanna) of Wauwatosa, WI. He is also survived by his cherished friend and partner, Jane Mendelblatt. He is further survived by two grandchildren, Ryan and Alli Welsh. Jim served in WWII in the Special Operations Detail in Hawaii. Jim had a long and successful career at AT&T, Ameritech and Wisconsin Telephone Co. He spent some time in New York City and Madison WI, during his career, but most of his work life was in Milwaukee. Jim was a District Manager in many areas of the business, including training, Methods and Procedures and System Design. Jim also was a member of numerous Community Service Organizations in both Madison and Milwaukee. Jim retired to Florida in the early 90's but returned to Milwaukee in 2007. He was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church. During Jim's illness he was well taken care of by the staff at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital, the Milwaukee Catholic Home and Vitas Hospice. The family would like to express their gratitude to Drs. Astor St. in Milwaukee, at 4:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2011.
