Jamilla means "beautiful." She was just that inside and out. Jamilla was born in Iskenderun, Turkey in 1966 to Ispir and Mariye Kusak. There she began life with her three brothers Joseph, George, Villi, and sister Klodya. Jamilla is survived by her dedicated husband Troy, loving father Ispir, brothers George and Villi, sister Klodya, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jamilla had a strong desire to live out her faith in Christ in America. God opened that door in 1993. Jamilla loved to travel and spent much of her life in the airlines industry. She also loved natural health and soon met the love of her life, Troy. Together, they built a peaceful home on Lake Denoon where they served friends, family, and Christ.
Jamilla's life and gentle servant's heart overflowed with the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Recent losses became more than her body could handle. God saw her broken heart and mercifully stepped in and led her home. Besides "I love you," and "don't worry-trust in the Lord," Jamilla's final words were this: "My help is on the way". It was not the help that we had prayed for, but the hope of heaven Jesus had promised her--where Jesus her Savior has welcomed her personally for service in the courts of King Jesus.
Jamilla would not want you to cry for her because, "in His presence there is fullness of joy; at His right hand are pleasures forevermore" (Psalm 16:11). Jamilla would also want you to know that she's in a better place, not because she was a good person, but because of the work of her Savior whom she loved and trusted with all her heart.
Our hearts are forever broken. Troy is already looking forward to the day they are reunited. Isaiah 43:2: "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze."
