Obituary

Our beloved Jane was embraced in the arms of the Lord on Sunday, June 14, 2026, after a lengthy and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Jane had a very long and storied advertising career with the Milwaukee Journal, Community Newspaper and Jewish Chronicle. Print advertising was her passion, but she truly loved selling travel advertising and engaging with her customers in a way that fostered long-term friendships.  She remained close to several even into retirement.

She was a member of the Whitnall Park Lutheran Church, where for many years she served as Assistant Minister - a role she truly revered.

Jane and Ken loved to travel, visiting all 48 states.  She loved to take cruises and absolutely adored the ocean (but did not care for beaches).  They enjoyed visiting the Northeast/East Coast.

Jane was surrounded by love from her husband – Ken - of 28 years (together a total of 40 years), Ken’s two children, whom Jane cherished – Matthew and Rachel, four grandchildren – Tyler, Gavin, Colin and Cameron, sister – Ellen Flynn, sisters-in-law – Laura Muckerheide and Sharon Witek-Perkl, nieces – Andrea, Sarah (Don) and Sarah (Adam), nephews – Richard (Krista), Wayne (Kim) and Joe (Brooke), best friends – Carlene, Nancy and Stella, many cousins – especially Big Jim and Susie, and family and friends, in addition to her beloved fur babies – Tinkerbella and Puggles (some would say Jane preferred animals to people).

She was preceded in death by her parents – Roger and Ruth Muckerheide, her brother – Roger Muckerheide Jr, and her adored mother-in-law – Dorothy Perkl.

A beautiful sister, a wife, an aunt, a stepmom, grandmother, and friend – her loss is immense, her laugh infectious, her spirit immeasurable and she will be forever cherished and not forgotten.

Overseen by Hartson Funeral Home (Hartson Funeral Home | Hales Corners, WI), services will be held on July 24th, 2026, at Whitnall Park Lutheran Church, 5847 Lilac Lane, Hales Corners, WI 53130.  A viewing will be from 10 am -12 pm with a service to follow at 12 pm.  A Celebration of Life will be held at The Muskego Fab House starting at 3 pm.

A special, heartfelt thank you to Froedtert Cancer Center, Dr. Ben George, the Oncology staff and the nurses involved in Jane’s care.  They were all absolutely wonderful throughout her journey, showing compassion and providing amazing support.

In place of flowers, please consider donating to the MACC Fund – Candy Cane Lane - an event near and dear to Ken and Jane over the last 20 years (Candy Cane Lane - MACC Fund).
