Obituary

(Nee Pederson) Age 88. Went home peacefully to Gods loving arms on April 19th, 2025.

A devoted wife to Ronald for 64 years, dear mother to her children David, Renee and Kim. Proud grandmother to Ashley Hribar (Chris Wieman), Brittany (Daniel) Opel and Ryan Vandenboom (Danielle Backstrom) as well as great-grandma to the lights of her life Kennedy, Dillon and Tatum Opel.

She is further survived by her twin brother James (Mary) Pederson as well as many other family members, nieces, nephews and friends.

Joanne was born to Oliver and Marie Pederson at Deaconess Hospital on September 12, 1936.

She went on to Greendale High School and was once elected Prom queen.....After High School she went to Alverno College and earned her degree in education. She loved children and taught at 67th St school until the birth of her three kids.

She married Ronald on November 24th 1960 at Sacred Hearts in St. Martins, WI. She was a Cub Scout den mother, Drought School Board Member, bowler, Greendale High School reunion member. She was an avid baker and quilter and looked forward to Tuesdays with her Norway Lutheran quilting group as well as lunch group outings with friends especially her Monday and Thursday groups. She never forgot a card or a birthday and always added her extra touches to make things extra special.

She loved her family and friends dearly and was content to be at home and in her yard and looked forward to cheering the Brewers on. She was a loyal and giving member to St Clare parish for many years. She was a true source of strength and an example of what faith is praying daily. She said many rosaries and changed lives through her prayers.

A private mass and burial with immediate family as she wished will be held.

Family wishes to thank the many family members and friends for their support and love through prayers, cards, calls, etc.

An extra special thank you for the amazingly caring staff at Zilber Hospice who helped to make her journey such a peaceful and loving one and most of all helping us in granting her wishes and giving her what she so deserved.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Joanne's name to Norway Lutheran quilters, Zilber Hospice, or the Children's charity of your choice appreciated.
