JoEllen Fauteck

Wauwatosa - JoEllen Fauteck, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 23, 1925, passed away at age 99, on April 14, 2025. She is predeceased by her husband, Clarence Fauteck. JoEllen is survived by her two daughters, two granddaughters, and a great granddaughter. JoEllen and Clarence were both veterans of the US Army and served during WWII. Following an honorable discharge from the US Army at the close of WWII, Clarence and JoEllen married on January 4, 1947, and celebrated 73 years together. In 2011, JoEllen felt privileged to participate in the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.

She retired as a teacher from MPS Elm Creative Arts School. Her happiest years were spent bringing the joy of reading, especially poetry, to her young students. She was a talented, highly regarded teacher and mentor.
Summers were spent with family and friends at the lake cottage floating lazily on the water, swimming and fishing. By the end of summer JoEllen was ready to return to the classroom.

JoEllen was an avid reader well into her 90's and was never far from a good book. She loved quilting, both for charity and for family and friends. She also enjoyed golfing and playing cards, particularly Sheepshead and Bridge. Nothing could stand in the way of her weekly Bridge club!

JoEllen was fun-loving and sharp witted – two qualities that helped sustain her through bad times and intensified the good. Her physical strength and spirit carried her gracefully to the last of her days.

A veteran of WWII, JoEllen, will be laid to rest in a private memorial service at Southern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in JoEllen's memory to the Wisconsin Humane Society or animal shelter of your choice. She loved her cats, dogs, birds, and wildlife.
