Obituary

John G. Hogan Sr., of Milwaukee, WI along with his family by his side in his son's home, was born to eternal Life on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the age of 56.Beloved father of Wendy (Scott) Malsh, John Jr. (Alexandra) Hogan and Stacy Hogan. Proud Grandfather of Jordan, Madison, Nathan and Jayden. Son of Mary Hogan, dear brother of Ronald (Joni) Washak, Robert, Thomas (Victoria), Daniel (Kathryn), Dennis, and sister Patricia (Monte) Kuntz. Preceded in death by his father Clarence Hogan. Further survived by many nieces and nephews, relatives and many wonderful friends in Milwaukee and Liverpool, NY.John was born in Milwaukee on November 4, 1959 to Clarence and Mary Hogan. John served in the United States Marine Corps in the late 70's. He married Kim Zobrack in 1980 and they were blessed with 3 wonderful children.Self-educated, self-reliant and self-motivated, John built a successful window cleaning business in New York and devoted 16 years to his profession. A fisherman at heart, John created a timeless bond with his son when he helped him catch his first muskie on Pewaukee Lake. This became the foundation of a father/son family tradition and a lifelong passion for the both of them. John shared his love for nature with his youngest daughter, Stacy. A trip to Canada where they toured the great Niagara Falls laughing and conversing together, was a very cherished and memorable experience for the both of them and will always live on. John built a very special and trustworthy bond with his oldest daughter, Wendy. He was ALWAYS there no matter what was going on to simply listen and offer the best advice possible while recognizing her strengths during challenging times. Quality family time meant the world to John. When his children were spread out over three different states, he made it possible for them to all be together during the holidays. John loved his dog Annie and they were the best of friends. When Annie fell limp due to an allergic reaction to a bee sting, he rushed her to the hospital without pausing to put on a pair of pants. John's down to earth personality could always make you laugh about life itself. He lived his life with compassion often donating his time, talent, and treasure to animal and homeless shelters; especially around the holidays. Everyone loved John.Special thanks to VITAS Hospice Care for their generous and loving care for John and his family.A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church located on 8500 W Coldspring Rd, Greenfield, WI 53228 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. funeral mass. The Hartson Funeral home is assisting the family with online condolences at www.hartsonfuneralhome.com to let the family know how John's life impacted your life.
