Obituary

John Mindiola Sr at the age of 79, found peace on January 26th, 2017.  Beloved husband of Bonnie.  Father of Joseph Mindiola (Cindy), Tony Mindiola (Jaye), John Mindiola Jr (Mona), Therese Andino, Michael Mindiola (Kelly), Andrea Mindiola, Natalie MorningCrow & Stephanie Wenzel (Andy).  Grandfather of Kirstin, Kaitlin, Joe, Kaleena, Kyle, John III, late Sarah Barse, Derek, Travis, Ryan, Madison, Marissa, Max, Mikayla, Autumn, Sierra, Tyler and Leah.  Great-Grandfather to Christian, Julianna, Zoe, Jayce, Kaylie & Hunter.  Survived by brothers Stanley Mindiola (Ophelia), Tony Lopez Sr, Matty Lopez (Mary), Johnny Lopez, sister Julie Cervantas (Jim) & sister-in-law Sandy Mindiola.  Preceded in death by siblings Tony Mindiola Jr, Ysidra Garcia & Lupe Barreto.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. John was a life long resident of Waukesha, retiree of International Harvester/Navistar & member of the United Steelworkers Local 3740 and held various positions.  John loved Waukesha and was very active with the City Parks Forestry Division and the City Planning Commission.  He held many positions within the Parks & Recreations Department being on the Board of Directors including President for 19 years.  He helped develop programs and parks in the city of Waukesha.  John also received the key to the City of Waukesha July 19th, 2004 and December 19th, 2004 was proclaimed John Mindiola Day.  With over 33 years of volunteer services, John Mindiola Sr Community Park was dedicated September 2005.   Heartfelt gratitude to his extended care family of Dr. Jose Franco, Dr. Christopher Johnson, Dr. Thomas Connor, Leanne Graf, Jean B., Cindy J., Cindy M., Chole, Rodney and the many nurses and staff of 3SW at Froedert Hospital.  In addition, much gratitude extended to his caregivers of Compassionate Care Hospice. A celebration of life will be held at Frame Park in the Rotary Club Building: 1150 Frame Park Dr. Waukesha, 53186 on Friday, February 3rd, 2017 from 3-7.  Services will be shared by Father Perez beginning at 5pm.  In lieu of flowers, all memorials may be designated to John's family.
