John was born to Herman and Dora (nee Ganten) Richter on October 14, 1944 and passed into Eternal Life on April 26, 2024, with his beloved bride by his side. John married his high school sweetheart, Patricia (nee Notch) on June 19, 1965. They met at a CYO dance when they were 15 years old and have been inseparable ever since.

John worked for many years in the auto industry (Selig/Heiser) which helped spur his love for cars. Annual trips to Iola for the car show were a favorite for them both. He also enjoyed bowling and the Brewers for many years. Most of all, John enjoyed being around his family. You could always count on him to tell a few good jokes and stories.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Pat. Also survived by sisters-in-law Kathleen (George) Talamini and Betty (Doc) Will, brother-in-law Frank (Renee) Notch, nieces and nephews - Carrie, Candy, Fred, Jay, Tom, Terrie, Laura, Matt, Jacob and Kyle. He had many grand-nieces and grand-nephews that will never forget Uncle John. He will forever hold a special place in everyone's heart.

John was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Betty (Milt) Henn and Candy (Fritz) Bielinski.

A memorial gathering will be held at Hartson Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 4 pm to 6 pm. Memorial Service 6 pm.

He is forever in our hearts, the Coca-Cola Cowboy.
