John Norman Tanger, aged 72, of Milwaukee, WI passed away on Friday, October 29th, 2021 at Aurora West Allis Medical Center, with his family by his side.
John was born in West Allis, WI on February 28th, 1949, the son of Norman and Edith Tanger, of West Allis.
He graduated from Nathan Hale High School in West Allis. His favorite pastimes included bowling, cooking and softball to name a few.
John attended culinary school in Milwaukee and worked as a chef at Allen Bradley Company in Milwaukee for 40 years. After retiring he went on to usher at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
John is survived by his wife, Anna Tanger (nee: Podd), of Milwaukee, WI; sister, Lynn Magnuson, of Conyers, GA.; his two daughters,Tracie (Scott) Thompson, of Elroy, WI and Sherrie Lamb (fiance John Zastrow) of Ripon,,WI, two grandchildren, Nicholas (Amanda) Lamb of Ft. Meyers, FL and Mackenzie Lamb of Ripon, WI and a great granddaughter, Lillyan Vargas of Ripon, WI. John is preceded in death by his mother, Edith Tanger and father, Norman Tanger.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 13th, 2021 at 2 p.m at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church at 8633 W. Becher St, Milwaukee, WI and a commemorative ceremony for John will be held immediately following, at Forest Home Cemetery at 2405 W Forest Home Ave, Milwaukee, where John's ashes will be inurned in the columbarium next to his parents.
