Joseph John Schmitz III, age eighty five, of Greendale Wisconsin, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 8, 2014. Born in Wilmette, Illinois to Joseph and Anna Schmitz. He lived most of his life in Greendale. Joseph was a passionate man who loved spending time with his family, reading books and was especially fond of his time spent volunteering at the Wehr Nature Center. Joseph was extremely loving and proud of his four children, Anne (Omar), David (Mary), Daniel (Anna) and Ellen (Richard) and his eleven grandchildren Cheri, Ryan, Jocelyn (Tony), Dana, Colin, Arielle (Brad), Sam, Mary Rose, Jessica, David and Amani. He is also survived by his sister, Rosemary Walusiak, of Wilmette, Illinois, nephews, nieces and other friends. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Schmitz (Walsdorf) of St. Anna, Wisconsin, his parents, his brother, Richard Schmitz and his grandson, Ryan Schmitz. He taught at Pulaski High School for thirty three years and enjoyed dedicating his life to teaching. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Parish in Greendale, Wisconsin located at 6060 W. Loomis Road.
